Hi galpd320,
thanks for the hint, but the rendering of Saturn is very slow after all. I am using a Radeon 9000.
I cannot see the pictures at the beginning of the thread. Do they look something like:
Then I have the same problem. As I am using the Omega-drivers, I cannot contact ATI. If I contact the makers of the omega-drivers, what should I report? What exactly is the error?
Thanks!
Daniel
Pb Saturn with release 1.3
Catalyst 4.2
If you check the Release notes for Catalysts 4.2 (should be out very soon) they specificly state that the Celestia problem is fixed. Can't wait to see if this is true.
Live long and prosper!
ATI did it! Finally...
Saturn ring shadows are working with 4.2 Catalyst and Radeon 9000!!! If you know "Orbiter", it also solves the Antialiasing-flashing problem (DirectX in this case)! For me it's like christmas
Cheers everybody!
Cheers everybody!
It is definitely great that it works fast and without texture corrupion now. I have on question though. When I enable ring shadows a new shadow appears on top of the planet, that wasn't there before. I know that the shadows should be projected onto a planet now but I'm not sure if the projection is correct. I would post some screenshots to forum but I don't know how.
Live long and prosper!
JLP,
Does it look something like this?
