Grant... nearest stars?

The stellar companion for BL Ceti (Luyten 726-8), UV Ceti, has a radius of 100000 km. This should be more like 20000 km... wondering if I'm missing something.

That's a tiny radius ... where did you get it from?
My figure is ~14% of the radius of the Sun, about right for UV Ceti's stellar class. See, for instance, http://www.solstation.com/stars/luy726-8.htm for confirmation.

Apparently I got it from my ass. Yeesh. My bad.

My problem was seeing '.03 Rsun' from Celestia, and translating '14%' as '.014.'

I teach Math SAT prep, can you believe it? :)

Nevermind.

Oh, any suggestions on how to make a stellar companion have a proper spectral shine?

Radii for cool stars are underestimated in Celestia, but not by that much since we introduced a bolometric correction. Are you using 1.3.0?

Nag Chris!.

This is Will in proper form...

I'm using 1.3.0... Mac, you see. Glad to hear it is more correct in 1.3.1 (I presume). I guess I'll just have to pine for it.
