Grant... nearest stars?
The stellar companion for BL Ceti (Luyten 726-8), UV Ceti, has a radius of 100000 km. This should be more like 20000 km... wondering if I'm missing something.

That's a tiny radius ... where did you get it from? Will wrote:The stellar companion for BL Ceti (Luyten 726-8), UV Ceti, has a radius of 100000 km. This should be more like 20000 km... wondering if I'm missing something.
My figure is ~14% of the radius of the Sun, about right for UV Ceti's stellar class. See, for instance, http://www.solstation.com/stars/luy726-8.htm for confirmation.

Radii for cool stars are underestimated in Celestia, but not by that much since we introduced a bolometric correction. Are you using 1.3.0?Will wrote:My problem was seeing '.03 Rsun' from Celestia ...
Nag Chris! .Will wrote:Oh, any suggestions on how to make a stellar companion have a proper spectral shine?
