Firstly: Chris has to answer this question, and Chris alone!
Secondly: my image is pretty much north-south directed
Thirdly: the real image location is http://thilo.kickchat.com/whereisit.png not .jpg

I have no idea where that is . . . I checked all the big rivers that I know of, and no matches! What resolution texture is that?

Even I knew this, but kept the "secret". After all it's rather next door to where I live...

Much harder for our American friends living close to Alaska;-), for example...

PS: I also noticed that Thilo is meanwhile running celestia-KDE;-)...

The same for me: I can see myself there! BTW, I am planning to run Celestia on KDE3 too soon...

Of course I am ;-)
gnome didn't want to work for me .. I remember trying to get openuniverse run with the glui but it was always a pain in the ass to install. Either I would compile it with mesa's drivers and thus give up direct rendering support using the tdfx-dri sources with dri-xserver or i would have to compile glut+glui all by itself ... and now I have that neat clean KDE gui, can't tell you how happy I am ;-)

Chris was very fast to find. Of course I choose a location out of North America and Europe in order to make things interesting (and I rotated it a little!).
I'll post another quizz shortly.
