The files are actually hosted by SourceForge, so you also should be able to download them by going to http://sourceforge.net/project/showfile ... p_id=21302
SourceForge provides an international network of mirror servers, so it has to ask which one you want to use before the download can actually start. If your download procedure doesn't allow for this, then it can't work.

I'll go through what I do in steps
1: I double click on the .dmg
2: After the next window appears I then double click on the Celestia programme
3: It then comes up with a message saying 'It appears you are running Celestia on ATI Radeon 9200 hardware. Do you wish to install a workaround?
4: If I click yes it says about Fatal Error, the message reads
"There was a problem installing the workaround. You may be running from a disk image, which is write-protected. Please try copying the CelestiaResources folder to your home directory as described in the README. You can also attempt to perform the workaround manually by following the instructions in the README."
5: I then have to click Quit Celestia
6: If I say no then Celestia opens up but afetr about 30 seconds it freezes and I have to manually shut it down and then reboot.

But man, after reading again your message, the problem is evident! You need to copy all the dmg content on you HD! Why don't you simply do that???????

Christophe (ElChristou),
Don't know about others, but I think that you are providing a great
service to your fellow "Strange-Machine" users here.
Keep up the GREAT work, my friend.

So one in your HD, you double click the Celestia Icon and get:
or you just get:
?
What about the Readme? Have you read it? Have you try installing the workaround by yourself?
"There was a problem installing the workaround. You may be running from a disk image, which is write-protected. Please try copying the CelestiaResources folder to your home directory as described in the README. Firstly I get
"It appears you are running Celestia on ATI Radeon 9200 hardware. Do you wish to install a workaround?"
Then if I click yes it says
"There was a problem installing the workaround. You may be running from a disk image, which is write-protected. Please try copying the CelestiaResources folder to your home directory as described in the README. You can also attempt to perform the workaround manually by following the instructions in the README."
And yes I have read the README it says
"* Edit the file "celestia.cfg" in the "CelestiaResources" folder and remove the # from the beginning of the line that says:
# IgnoreGLExtensions [ "GL_ARB_vertex_program" ]"
But when I try to do this it says that it will not save the new file

Sorry to butt in, but I have similar problems saving Celestia's
original files on my Windows system because of Celestia's permissions
entries. Don't know if this occurs on your system or not, but you can
try to save the file to ANOTHER location (anywhere you like) and then
COPY it back OVER the original Celestia file. Sometimes you can do
this to get around the permissions.
ElChristou?
Thanks, Brain-Dead
