Yes hungry... you're quite right... can't model them folded. Pretend they are extended for housekeeping!

Great! Could you send me your folded panels and I'll put them on the model for everybody? 3ds or an8.

Sure, if I am successful, I will post it up here. I use Anim8or to make .3ds files for it.

Couple of things... could do with Canadarm 2 on the truss... can someone make one to add to the model?
Also stringers for the mid rads extension mechanism are missing... shrug.

Many thanks to Andrew Farnaby for letting me mash up his fine model.

If someone would like to convert to cmod please go ahead.

Daniel,

Methinks you're not getting CLOSE enough to see the flags and logos.

I just got Mr. Hundley's new Nov model and the textures, and they show
up FINE on my display. Remember though, I'm also using a 2-foot screen
now, and I have to get as close as Celestia will allow me to in order to see
the flag.

Just FYI...

On the other hand, Mr. Hundley... This model is spectacular. I have removed
my ISS complete model and REPLACED it with your Nov update. I much
prefer to see the ISS as it actually is, so to speak.

Great stuff sir... THANK YOU from the Brain-Dead. :D

Ah, but there ARE...

I can see the US flag myself. You DO have to get close to the appropriate
module though.

THANKS again.

This is also what I did. It is really nice to see the construction phases from Unity in Dec 98 to the present day as it grows.

Thanks bh!

I would like to see the revised version, but you do what YOU want to do...
The day you HAVE to do something for Celestia is the day you should take
a break. I'm only playing with 16 hours a day because I don't have
anything ELSE to do now that I'm considered a disabled person.

Hee, hee... Having a BLAST with this stuff. CHEERS again mate!!!

Ah, but there ARE...

Bob,
You got to be looking at a different model. The us flag is called issusaf.jpg and there is no reference to that file in the issnov07.3ds file.

'Tis the one I just downloaded from Mr. Hundley's link above...
It IS possible that I retained some of the old textures in my medres folder
though. I have it located under

C:|Program Files\Celestia\extras\Spacecraft\textures\medres and ALL of
my spacecraft models pull from a single textures folder there.

NOTE: Just re-downloaded the textures file from Bob's link, and there ARE
the textures I see INCLUDED with the issjpegs.zip file. Just FYI.

Bob,
If you press the Shift ~ keys you'll see what files are loading and you'll be able to tell if issnov07.3ds is really the file your looking at. Also if you hit the enter key and type "iss", you should only see 1 iss entry. If you see more than 1, then you are loading more than 1 model. That may be why your seeing the flag. There is no material section in the model issnov07.3ds that uses the us flag file issusaf.jpg. Not the one I have anyhow.

I do not need to... I KNOW which model I'm seeing,,,

HOWEVER,

You are entirely correct in saying that there are NO flags on this model. I
do not know what happened, but I did a walk-around - getting as CLOSE
to all parts of the model as I could. Again, you are ENTIRELY CORRECT
in stating that the model does NOT use the flag.

My APOLOGIES... Methinks that what happened was I did a previous
walk-around on the previous model. Either that, or my new Vista OS
did it to me again because I KNOW I saw the flag on this version.
At any rate, I did like the flag...

Sorry again, must be the damn-Yankee in me even if I really AM a
Brit.

At any rate, Mr. BH deserves NOTHING but thanks for the model. I
WILL keep it as is...

Thanks again Bob...

Take care, Brain-Dead

Hey Bob,
The only reason I brought that up is because I know that I often forget to txt out a ssc file and I end up loading more than 1 version of the model. Which confuses the hell out of me and ....... Anyhow no apology is necessary. I've played around with 4 different versions of the model and for a while now and, ......well I'm getting a little brain dead myself.

The only textures that is being loaded are iss_dcs.jog,issku2.jpg,graple.jpg,issred.jpg and isscup.jpg.
But THERE IS MORE:
The model I have is different from your picture in Imageshack.I don??t have some vertical "modules" and other details.Although I should be using "issnov07.jpg",the model is ANOTHER,I think.Maybe the association with ISS-11A is the problem.
Maybe I still have the original model! 8O

It??s not the same model

Post #59by danielj » 25.10.2007, 19:16

Look at these pictures:
http://img180.imageshack.us/my.php?imag ... sitvi9.jpg
http://img110.imageshack.us/my.php?imag ... amezg2.jpg
http://img218.imageshack.us/my.php?imag ... estxo5.jpg
http://img218.imageshack.us/my.php?imag ... glegg8.jpg

You can see how bland the model look like.Actually,I have 2 Celestia running in my system, but in different partitions.Could be possible that Celestia 1.5.0 pre 3 is actually using the defaul model that is in Celestia 1.4.1?
Celestia 1.5.0 pre3 is inside D partition and Celestia 1.4.1 is inside C partition!

As PREVIOUSLY discussed - in some GREAT detail above - there are NO
decals available on the new model. We'll just have to be patient for a while.

OR, learn how to add what we want ourselves. I'm getting there a little
bit at a time.
