Hello,
I want to observe the night sky using Celestia.
I go to Object Earth, type in Lat = 52 and Long = 9 which is my positon on earth. Then I press Ctrl+G to "go to earth".
Does this mean, that I am now standing on earth, at position Lat=52 and Long=9 watching the night sky ?
If this is correct so far, how can I determine in which direction to the the horizon (North, West,East,South) I am looking ?

Frank,
Yes, if Celestia's time is set correctly, it will show your sky.

Also Frank, you should try Stellarium which would be the perfect solution for night sky viewing/identifying (if that's what your main goal is )
