Yep I also agree, but here seems we are again in front of a depth sorting problem...

The problem is that I've never bothered trying to implement depth sorting for markers. It's on my development roadmap, along with text labels and reference frames for markers.

So the plan is to have a kind of text marker? One would write the text in a ssc and it would be applyied as a marker in Celestia?

I'd like markers to be more general than they are now. Right now, you can only place a marker on the center of an object. I'd like to change it so that a marker can be placed anywhere in space, whether there's an object there or not. Imagine a script that uses markers to label significant mission events on a spacecraft trajectory or points on a ground track (expressed as positions in a planets body-fixed reference frame.) Or the equinox and solstice on the Earth's orbit. Or positions of Earth's north celestial pole as it precesses over thousands of years.

Would it then also be possible to include an URL into the legend/marker? So you could link to the web or somewhere local.
That would be very, very nice for educational activities, i think.
