Celstia and Outlook2000

Post #1by Colin_hutcheson » 23.02.2007, 11:16

Question on behalf of my Father. He installed Celestia 1.4.1 and worked perfectly, but it affected his Outlook2000 email. He could receive, but not send emails. When he closed it down he could not load up Outlook. Has anyone had similar problems or throw any light on this?

His sytem details are below.
athelon XP1800+
1.5ghz, 736Mb ram.
S3 grahics Pro Savage DDR

This is the first I've heard of this kind of problem.

I'd fear some malware that was unintentionally downloaded during a recent online session. Be sure to run a full system anti-virus scan and anti-spyware scan using current anti-virus signatures -- i.e. make sure the anti-virus and anti-spyware software includes this week's updates.

Check to make sure that the computer's internet connection actually is working, too.

Also, do you really mean "Outlook" or do you mean "Outlook Express"?

Outlook is the mail software that's included with Microsoft Office and which makes use of corporate Microsoft Exchange mail server functions, in which case it would be appropriate to discuss the problem with your father's corporate software support department.

Outlook Express is the simplified mail package that is included with Windows.
