the texture is much more impressive live in Celestia than in those little pictures

Will there be 2k versions?

Although not 100% Celestia, I could not have done it without.

Great to see your active return, Bob. BTW, you may contact Linuxman to compare your different works (http://celestiasws.free.fr/ see the "Back in USSR/gallery page)(I sent a PM to him to point your nice work)
We try to complete the ASTP (Soyuz 19/ Apollo 18/ ASTP) , but we have some doubts with the datations of the dock/undocks, etc... like you have done with the ISS stages (do you have some accurate data about all the ASTP mission?) .
(Nota about ISS stages: I must sent to you some updates (English and French) of the chronology files, but I'm thinking to turn these files into html files with active cel/URLs what do you think about this?...)

Hi Jeam...I've not really been away, just lurking about as I've had nothing to contribute of late! The only astp data I have is the info that came with Jack Higgins (where he?) model. I think he provided an ssc file...I may be wrong though.

There's been some superb modelling of late...keep it up guys!

For the moment it seems to me that there are these data linuxman uses*. We search to place the Soyuz 19 and the Apollo 18 before and after the rendezvous too...
Bob, Linuxman has modeled a Soyuz TMA2 (Agat mission to the ISS) maybe could you and him work together on a docked model?

Mr Jack, you're needed! (hmmm, I was a great fan of The Avengers)

Well, Bob, I have updated (and corrected)the listings (English and French). I'm waiting for the STS- 121 mission d?©parture to send you the files... and for the moment I can't note cel/urls, alas, but I keep this idea in mind for the IIS evolution stages that were converted for Celestia, plus your final versions, docked shuttles etc... This add-on will be out in a week or two; a bunch of Bishop Rings, rotating habitats with the surface area of India

You know I'm gonna have to swipe this new and improved version for my Dunwalli add-on!

How'd you get passed the stretched texture problem, anyway?

Well, the rings are constructed from individual sections, just like my new ringworlds (and just like everybody else's ringworlds, actually). These rings have 45 sections.
The drawback with this is you need to define the luminaire with an .stc file, or half the ring is in darkness. I suppose I could make the internal surface emissive, but I thought I'd try 'real' illumination first; and it looks quite good.

wow. nice planet :)

EDIT: Selden, think ya can make this sticky? I just LOVE seeing other people's works, and i'm sure lots of other people do too. Of course, i'm not the thread creator, so i'm just tossing in an idea. :)

Anyhoo, after applying the new atmosphere code to the Pisces planet at the top of the page, I encountered a sweet, sweet sunset:

I thought I would share the first ever pictures of project "Gunsmoke".
So here is what I have been doing n the side for a while.

Gunsmoke obits a pair of close orbiting "G" class binarys.
Image

It has three small moons.
Image

The surface is hot and very arid. There are tremendous dune fields all across the planet.
Image

The Twin Suns from the surface of Gunsmoke.
Image

The three moons rising in the east over a sea of quartz sand.
Image

Of course most of you won't have any idea of where the idea of this came from. But I am sure there are a few of that might have an idea.

Look for more pictures soon in the Add-ons section of the Forum. This was just to share some pictures and introduce the project .
