Problem with Xorg service

Post #1by patecone » 28.11.2006, 16:07

Hello everybody.

Not sure if this the right place to post this kind of message, so please excuse if I'm wrong.

I'm using celestia on a P4 1.5 Gz with a NVIDIA GeForce MX 128 MB graphic card.

I started using celestia with a different, also very old (32 MB) gr. card, under FC4 distro and everything worked fine.
Since I upgraded to FC5, and a few days ago to FC6, every time I run celestia my pc become very slower and the rendering of planet ins't as fine as it used with FC4. I noticed that as celestia is up my Xorg service takes up to 90% of cpu usage. If I quit, everything become normal again. Could it be a problem with the openGL driver?

Thank u for you're attention.

Alla prossima :D

As others have stated it would not hurt to update the video card drivers. Hope that does the trick. BTW Celestia is a single processor program and tends to be a hog on the CPU.
