Overlay NIGHT Texture ?

Is there a way of adding an overlay NIGHT texture ?

I made an overlay Texture to spot France during an educational script about day and night length. It works perfectly for the day side of earth.

But when my "Red France" goes to the night side, it becomes all black. I need it to stay red or, even better, to become blue.

I manage to do that by creating a new NightTexture and by defining it in an alt_surface file.

But I would prefer - if possible - to use an overlay NIGHT texture instead of a complete NightTexture because I need my addon to be less than 2Mb...

Thanks a lot for any answers...

Nobody ?

I just wanted to know whether it's possible or not...
I made a search on the forum and in Selden's ressources, but I didn't find anything about that...

Thanks a lot Selden. I will keep on using a complete night texture. That works perfectly !
