TRULY BEAUTIFULL !

You made a quantum leap in modeling ! ;-)

This model doesn't even need any textures. It's a great addon.

Two crittics : the dishes on the front are a bit too polygonal. They are looking crude and should be circular. And the gray material is looking like plastic. You should remove some of the shines. A mate aspect could be better on the circular base of the domes.

I'll keep this one ! ;-)

I discovered a small hole on the headquarter building. There's a "crack" visible on the back. So I premitted myself to edit your model with my 3D modeler. I patched the hole, and I changed the two dishes on the front. Now they are totally smooth. Also, I removed a bit of the shine on the light gray parts, and this model now ROCKS !

It's really a must have model for Celestia. Congratulation ! :)

I'll wait for your next model release. The expectation is high, now ! ;-)

And what now ? Are you working on the LEXX, or the black hole ship ?

Those models should be very original addons, in the sense that they are very different than the usual Star Wars, Babylon and Star Trek models.

I would love to have Tintin's rocket too, but I'm unable to find it on the internet.

actually I have both the lexx and cygnus started, it'll be a while to finish them, currently looking for work so in between when I can I'll build for like 16 hours straight then rest a few and go at it again. I'll post progress updates as I go along.

The Lexx almost looks like a mickey mouse lolipop lol.
has many details, and lots of spheres in the front, organic geometry uses lots of curves and is more labor intensive.

The cygnus is very industrial framework mostly.

it depends on how I feel at the time cause I like to really get into 3d modeling when I can. pushing polygons are just as fun as pushing a paintbrush or pencil.

its an art thing :D

I had a diffucult time deciding on the hues like are the domes too dark, the red too brown 'the white too plastic and so on.
again like I said anyone is welcomed to change whatever they like.

for now this is the latest .

Thanks everyone.

Bob,

Speaking of beautiful models, do you have plans yet to rebuild, relocate,
or otherwise make available your web site again?

Thanks, the other Bob

Cham, here??s a 3ds of Dan Dare??s rocketship from the 50??s classic "The Man from Nowhere": http://www-rocq1.inria.fr/Eric.Saltel/d ... ace012.php

This looks very much like Tintins rocket, exept for the fins (Tintinrocket fins are much simpler). It should be trivial to edit, and give the red/white checkerboard texture instead of the one it has in the pic... And there you are :-)

Hello Folks, I have somewhere a Tintin Rocket for the Orbiter Sim (and, IIRC, the modeler have on his site an explanation page to model it). I have not my archives with me, now, but i could find either the old .zip files or the adress, if you want

ScyBladeghost,

Thanks a lot ! This is so cool !

A crittic, however : the model is a bit crude. It should be smoother (more polygons).

Tag, can you make your version available ? I want to compare it with the model available from ScyBladeghost web site.

It's a Tintin.msh file. How can we convert this to 3ds ? Is it possible ?
