The Celestia web site on shatters.net is back, and it now has a much improved layout by Runar Thorvaldsen.

Kudos should go to Runar--he's the one who did the majority of the work on this.

Yes, I like it too. Beautifull, nice job !

I'm not really sure about the old style map as background, however. It gives an "old" feel. I prefer a pure, clean and modern look and feel, but this is just a matter of personal taste.

Great! I already was somewhat worried about the state of the Celestia homepage, but this makes up for the long wait. And the combination of the old map and modern technology IMHO fits pretty well for an astronomy related website.

Thanks Runar!

Harald

P.S: There is a typo on the download page in the linux paragraph: "INTALL file" instead of "INSTALL file"

Is that the default hubble model in the picture on the homepage? Looks very nifty :)

I don't think so. I'm sure it is Jestr's model (HUGE one).

This brighter design definitely works better for me. More screenshots might make the site even better
(plus accompanying cel urls). Celestia is all about the pretty screenshots. :D

OT, but I was looking at the Hubble on the front page and thinking, gee, NASA kills the Hubble in real life
but at least it will live on inside Celestia...

I just can say "Well done"!
Thanks to Runar.

Probably everybody wants Runar to design their sites too...

Absolutely beautiful... Especially compared to the old site.

What an extremely talented group of people exist on this forum. I'm
constantly surprised and amazed as Celestia (and its friends' add-ons)
continue to evolve.

Thanks very much for the improvements Runar.

Take care, Bob

It is Jestr??s. In my opinion the richest, most beatuifully crafted model we have for Celestia... Have you guys seen the amount of detail in it? Too bad i couldn??t use the screenshot full-size...

Very elegant, sober and practical interface, thank you Chris and Runar for this new ornament for the Celestia site! I am occupied by my work in this moment, but one will need that I make a true site for my catalogue, really... Jeam
