Lookin' For Mercury

Hey folks...

I'm starting my Celestia from scratch, and right now I'm looking for the most accurate Mercury texture out there. I'd prefer not to go any lower than 2k.

Also, I'm not at all worried about missing data, since this installation of Celestia will deal with the Solar System as we currently know it.

Thanks!

Just play with the search engine...

Here is my 8k Mercury, that is of course the best

Unfortunately, I have not yet managed to place it into my TextureFoundry for general download. Sorry...

Anyhow, "modern minded" people like e.g. Psykotik even forgot to include my TextureFoundry among the links in their new site. It seems to be too old to be good, ahem... [Actually, it was the first dedicated Celestia Texture site with ~122000 visits/downloads since July 2002]

**chuckles** Yeah, I saw that one. Not finding it for download was what prompted the question... after two years, who knows where the texture might have ended up!
:P
Hey, if you wanted to email it to me, I wouldn't mind. Of course, if you'd rather not have put or for public consumption, I'll just continue my search....

email? You are joking are you;-) The main texture and the normal map are 44MB each...

My problem is that I still have only a 57k modem at home while in the office I have serious professional restrictions for using my very fast line for private purposes...

So go on searching...

Ah... sometimes I forget that my nice new cable modem is still not the norm for the Internet Community.

Ah well, thanks Fridger! I'll keep on searchin'... I may just have to settle for the standard low resolution Mariner mosaics.

Hello Dollan,
Please see http://celestiamotherlode.net/catalog/mercury.html for what I believe to be all the textures available on the web. If you find one that we don't have listed, please let me know.

Hello Fridger,
You have mentioned a couple of times that you do not have adequate space for your creatrions. Please expect a private message from me.

Cheers,

Joe

Hey there!

Sorry for the delay in responding, but I've been on a mini-vacation. I'll take a peek at the link you've listed tonight, when I get back home. Thanks!
