Thank you for enlightening me this evening, Dr. Schrempp. 8) I'm just a Windows weenie and seriously didn't know that.

Have you looked at the updated file?

Don't be sorry, do more! It's nice to see that even the most ejukated and highest ranking scientists of our day can also be "silly" ... at times anyway. :P

This is a detailed listing of controls and is nice in that it gives some further description of what a control does. I'd also like to point out to some folks who may not know about it, that there is also a comprehensive Celestia Users Guide available on the main front page of the Celestia website. The guide explains every feature of Celestia in detail, and its last 2 pages are a summary listing in color of all keystroke and joystick controls.

Harald's web page has a fast-downloading mirror to 1.3.2 pre1 here: http://www.h-schmidt.net/celestia/celestia-win32-1.3.2pre1.exe

I think Fridger might have been out of town when Chris released it.

I think he wanted to point out this is 1.3.2pre1, not 1.3.2 - which hopefully makes a difference ;)

Wasn't there a crash with this version when using Starship-orbits?

Howdy Psykotik,

Please DO! :D

Then, contact Christophe, who I believe keeps track of translations for various parts of Celestia.

Other translations are welcome also!

In addition, I'm sure EVERYONE would like to have the Celestia User's Guide (by Frank Gregorio) and the CEL Scripting Guide (by me) translated into other languages as well. Even when things change in the future, these translations will still give LOTS of people a head-start with Celestia.

Cheers,

don:

A proposed tiny improvement for your list (great work btw):

From 'other functions' section:

Code: Select all

Enter ............ Select any object by entering its name
                   Tab/shift-Tab highlight name-matching object
Enter on highlighted name selects it

Or something like that.

Bye :)

Good idea Toti, thank you.

Below is how I worded it. Does this seem reasonable to everyone?

The file contents pointed to by the link at the top of this thread has been updated.

-Don G.

Code: Select all

Enter ............ Activate object/location name entry mode.  Esc to exit.
Type an object or location name and press Enter. Type
a partial name then use Tab / Shift+Tab to highlight an
item. Enter will then select the highlighted item.
