Knowing how secretive the Chinese are.
You can thank
http://www.astronautix.com for the pics... Apparently (I just can't remember at the moment) the chinese had a big exhibition last year & had a 1:40 scale model of their Shenzhou craft at it. We probably won't hear any more about it until some time in mid-october when we get a "breaking news" message on the TV:
China announces succesful launch of manned spacecraft
Much like the soviets did in the early days... They're certainly not going to have the world's press watching the launch live in case it explodes on the pad, & embarrasses them on the world stage...
Isn't it great that they're so predictable?

When they going into space travel ?
Their space program constantly stirs up public apathy- if no-one's interested, then the government aren't going to bother investing much in it... I can't see why no-one's interested though- example- this year: first mission to Mars (Nozomi), first EVER mission to sample an asteroid (MUSES-C, now called Hagosoto or something), first large scale automated production of space products (earlier this year)... That's pretty good for a relatively small country!!
TERRIER wrote:Great model again Jack, any idea what the Chinese writing say's?
I wouldn't spend 45 minutes making the mesh for that Mandarin text without finding out what it means first!!

Surprisingly, it means "Shenzhou"... That means "sunrise" in Mandarin, I think...

There's DEFINITELY at least one from Hong Kong, i've seen him post a few times... (Can't remember his name right now)
Didn't the chinese authorities ban access to any US I.P. addresses last year (shatters.net being the important one here...)? Or was that just from internet cafes? Or has it been lifted now...?
