It would be very interesting if one could add external links to an object?s contextual menu - opening a wikipedia search, a slide show, or even NASA movie clips from the object/event you are looking at.
It could be a directory in the Celestia Resources folder where one added a plain text file for each object. Then the text file could be interpreted as a script that opened a link (or a scripted Celestia event), or it could be used for annotations by the user. Think of it as informational Add-ons...

Contextual menu add-on?
This already is possible:
Every cataloged object can have an "InfoURL" entry. You can edit any of the catalog files and define an appropriate Web page for any of the objects it defines.
If there is no InfoURL, Celestia goes to nineplanets.org for objects in the solar system and to Simbad for extra-solar objects.

On the to do list?
I think adding an option on the right click information menu was for multiple URLs or even launching an external program. Don't know if this is still in the developer hopper list.

It's still on the TODO list . . . I'm currently working on bug fixes right now though
