Can't understand move command

I'm trying to write a script that will allow me to start with a recognizable Earth night sky view and move backwards on an arc to eventually be looking down on the Milky Way disc.

In order to achieve this I was hoping to use combinations of the move and rotate commands, but I can't figure out the parameters for move. I can see that velocity is a vector but I want to move directly backwards from my current orientation at each point along the curve and I can't see how I can derive the appropriate vector. In fact I can't even figure out what is the appropriate vector simply to move away from the star "ACrux " which is what I'm looking at to start with. I tried Adding this view as a location and then looking at the location info in favorites.cel but none of the vectors there seem to allow me to move away from "ACrux". Any ideas anyone?

Any help greatly appreciated.

there should be an easier way to do it, try looking at the scripting document on the celestia homepage.
