Possible Features?

There are a couple of features I wouldn't mind seeing in future version.
1. How about something like the eclipse finder, except It finds the closest distance, farthest distance, and average distance between two objects during a time period.

2. Mass information be added in the corner where temperature and everything else is.

3. How about the eclipse finder working in other systems?

I don't know how hard it would be to add these features, but just a few thoughts.

Well I know that all of these have been sugested before (and at least once by me)

I believe this is currently in the works, but probably won't be seen for too long.

Not sure about the progress of this one.

This one probably won't happen, ever, I think chris wrote this one off as doing way too many calculations, you know, make the computer go really slow.

In fact, it's just a UI issue . . . Celestia does calculate eclipses in other star systems, as is evidenced by the fact that you can see Celestia render the shadows (though not in any of the extrasolar systems that come with the base Celestia package--there are no known extrasolar moons.) If someone wants to propose a more general eclipse finder dialog, I'd consider integrating in Celestia.

Hmmm... Who was it that made the eclipse finder in the first place?

Me ;o)

And chris is right, it's just a UI problem to have the eclipse finder works in other stellar systems...

Well, im not really sure what UI is, but if there's anything I can do to help this feature become a reality (which I would REALLY like to see happen) let me know.
