Eclipse shadow over the night side of the earth!

I found a bug in the celestia 1.2.4.

When an earth eclipse occur and the eclipse shadow entered the dark side of the earth, the lights of the cities that are under the shadow are turned off.(eg: the eclipse in '99 11-aug. over the India).
And I think that there is a bug in the help menu also, in the controls menu, about the planet label. :D
Interesting Projects:
Celestia an open source space simulator.
EventGhost an open source PC remote control.

Eclipses at night

Post #2by Matt McIrvin » 28.05.2002, 03:42

As others have noticed, the eclipse shadow slices straight through the planet and affects ambient lighting on the night side as well. What's needed is somehow to apply the shadow logically prior to doing ambient lighting and night lights. I think Chris has said he's planning to work on this.
