Looks great bh. If the shuttle on screenshot is Atlantis you need to add the Orbiter Docking System. Discovery was the shuttle that only made an rendezvous with MIR and then performed an fly-around. Atlantis was the first shuttle to ever dock with MIR. If you're OK with it, I'd like to add the ODS to your shuttle model.

I've been trying to model the ODS for ages...all my efforts on this one have looked crap! I've also been trying to add the row of gold coloured grab handles along the top of the cargo bay walls...again with similar results!
If you want to add any mods to the model, please use the 'Discovery' model as this will be the basis for all further shuttle modifications, we can always change the name logos and other details.
I've also seen pictures of the K-band antenna array on the ships starboard side, behind the flight deck. I would like to add this also but have failed to find any good reference pics for this.
As far as Mir goes, there's a lot of work to do here. I'm taking the Celestia model as a base and I'm going to add the extra modules ect. Also for the 'Atlantis' link-up, the model needs to be aligned differently.

bh, I have an accurate KU band antenna 3D model on the harddrive. It won't be too much of an hassle to install it on the shuttle. It just needs some re-scaling to fit your 3D model. And I have changed the look on Atlantis to match the STS-71 config. At that time all the shuttles except Columbia had the NASA "wormlogo" painted on payload bay doors and the right wings. It was not until 1998 NASA replaced it with the modern and classic "meatball" logo. It was done as to celebrate the 40th anniversary of NASA. And I'll use the Discovery model for future modifications.

OK. bh you need to re-align the solar panels on MIR. There's no way an shuttle can dock in its current config.
Here's an photo of where the Shuttles dock:
As you can see the shuttle got a few solar arrays going straight through it. And that rust-brown colored thing you see is the Shuttle-MIR docking module brought up to MIR by Shuttle Atlantis to ease the docking for shuttle later on.
