Mega-Structures

Post #1by Cormoran » 15.08.2003, 17:23

I tried a little experiment today. I placed a 3ds model at the same position as Earth.

The effect I was going for was a far-future concept of a man-made ring system around the planet. Unfortunately, Even the back of the ring is drawn in front of the Earth. Is this something to do with the rendering order of objects?

See what I mean?

Any ideas wouldbe greatly appreciated :)

Perhaps you should break it in several pieces, as marc did with his Ringworld.

Sounds like a good idea...

Next question would be how one controls the orientation of models in Celestia...Time to start digging :)

Many Thanks,
