Curious how to use (or FIND!) the new features as quoted from the homepage "Phase lock and chase camera modes have been added so that you can set up great flyby views from comets, asteroids, and spacecraft. "

any help is appreciated!

You have to use scripting - have a look at the .ces files in the celestia directory.

You don't need to use scripting . . .
Chase mode is activated by pressing " . . . . it keeps your orientation constant with respect to the direction in which an object is moving.

Phase lock mode is slightly trickier. You need to first follow an object, then select second object to lock on (the Sun is a good choice.) To engage phase lock mode, press the ; key. Like chase mode, it's great for following comets as they orbit the Sun.

I've typed up a brief tutorial on all of this that I'll post tonight.
