The Cassini addon for Mobile has a problem! The probe's trajectory, instead of passing around Saturn, is passing around the Sun! At times, the probe even collides with the sun. See the images:

When you make the correction, can you review the entire addon?

Not to worry, this problem is being taken care of....I already sent a bugfix on GitHub to properly simulate it on mobile, must have overlooked it upon recoding it. Will notify if the patch has been uploaded, thanks

Inspiration4

Post #1765by DaveBowman2001 » 29.12.2021, 12:16

Inspiration4 (stylized as Inspirati④n) was a human orbital spaceflight operated by SpaceX on behalf of Shift4 Payments CEO Jared Isaacman. The mission launched the Crew Dragon Resilience on 2021-Sept-16, 00:02:56 UTC into LEO, and ended successfully on 2021-Sept-18, 23:06:49 UTC upon the splash down of the capsule in the Atlantic Ocean.

The mission successfully completed the first orbital spaceflight with only private citizens aboard and was part of a charitable effort on behalf of St. Jude's in Memphis, Tennessee. The crew consisted of Jared Isaacman, Hayley Arceneaux, Chris Sembroski, and Sian Proctor

This addon was originally posted exclusively on Discord on 2021-Sept-19, but since this was derived from the Crew Dragon model found in the ISS-2021 addon, I think it's time it would be available for public use. Made some minor changes that allow both versions of the Crew Dragon share the same folder

You can download all these exclusive addons from there:

All of these spacecraft (at least, all the ones in your screenshots) are in Celestia Origin. The credits can be found in its readme file.

The readme is included in the root directory of the "Core" download, next to the changelog, Celestia folder, and Installers folder. I guess it's fairly easy to miss since it's not in the Celestia folder and so the installer doesn't install it.

Edit: Might as well attach it here for anyone who doesn't want to download Celestia Origin. I've also PM'd it to SpaceExplorer.

Turns out I don't use Celestia Origin (at least yet). I had found those addons in that certain forum that I mentioned in the post, and as many users only browse addons development forums, I thought about the idea of putting them here. If possible, you could send me the addon credits in a private message, and then I'll add it to my post.

ExoMars Rover (Update)

Post #1771by SpaceExplorer » 31.12.2021, 00:39

I created an update for ESA's ExoMars (Rosalind Franklin) rover. Now, the rover appears on the surface of Mars shortly after its planned landing (on June 10, 2023). It also works perfectly on Celestia Mobile. @DaveBowman2001 can add this update to Mobile if desired. The models, textures and the SSC are created by Endeavor35. I ended up doing upgrade only.

EURECA (Jan 2022)

Post #1772by DaveBowman2001 » 10.01.2022, 12:26

The European Retrievable Carrier (EURECA) is an unmanned 4.5 ton satellite equipped with 15 scientific instruments. It was deployed from Space Shuttle Atlantis during mission STS-46 in 1992-Aug-2. EURECA then stayed in orbit for almost a year performing experiments before it was retrieved in 1993-Jul-1 by Space Shuttle Endeavour during STS-57. Originally slated to fly again to space five more times, but they are cancelled for budgetary reasons. Today, the satellite is on permanent display at the Swiss Museum of Transport in Luzern, Switzerland since 2000.

Included in this addon are the Tethered Satellite System (STS-46 and STS-75), and the single-module SPACEHAB (STS-57, original author bh). The three shuttle missions require the Space Transportation System (1981-2011) addon to work

EDIT (220821): This addon's iteration of EURECA is now obsolete. See this more updated post instead

Mariner 10 (2022)

Post #1774by DaveBowman2001 » 11.01.2022, 01:02

Mariner 10, the final spacecraft from NASA's Mariner program, was the first spacecraft to visit Mercury, and the first one to use gravity assist maneuvers to change their trajectories. Launched in 1973-Nov-3, it used Venus's gravity to slow itself down to allow three consecutive flybys of Mercury from 1974 to 1975. Shortly after its third Mercury flyby, the spacecraft ran out of fuel and was decommissioned on 1975-Mar-24.

The solar panels of this model was adjusted so that it is oriented towards the Sun rather than being perpendicular to it. Original model by TERRIER, and XYZV trajectory by toutatis

Imaging X-ray Polarimetry Explorer

Post #1775by DaveBowman2001 » 16.01.2022, 11:07

The Imaging X-ray Polarimetry Explorer (IXPE), is a space observatory with three identical telescopes designed to measure the polarization of cosmic X-rays. The observatory, which was launched 2021-Dec-9 on a Falcon 9, is an international collaboration between NASA and the Italian Space Agency (ASI).

Orbit parameters taken from CelesTrak. Original model from NASA's 3D Resources site

Skylab (January 2022)

Post #1776by DaveBowman2001 » 21.01.2022, 08:30

Untitled.png
1973-Jul-28, Arrival of Skylab 3 (59 days)
Untitled.png
1974-Feb-08, Departure of Skylab 4 (84 days)

Skylab is NASA's space station that operated from 1973-1979. Although heavily damaged during launch, which caused the loss of its micrometeoroid shield and second main solar array, it was successfully visited by three Apollo crews, who stayed onboard for 28, 59, and 84 days respectively. It was planned to be refurbished by the time the Space Shuttle is operational in the 1980s, but increased solar activity caused the station's orbital decay to accelerate, eventually reentering over Australia in July 1979

This addon is also part of the upcoming Project Apollo (Part 4) update, but in the meantime will still depend on the earlier version (Part 3) to view the Apollo CSMs (by ElChristou) and astronauts in EVA (by Croc). To prevent possible conflict, delete first the old Skylab.ssc contained in the Project Apollo addon

GOES-N (13 to 15)

GOES-N is the third-generation series of weather satellites under NASA/NOAA's Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellites program (1975-Present). Three satellites of this series (designated as 13, 14, and 15) are launched from 2006-2010. They are planned to be replaced by the fourth-generation GOES-R

This addon adds GOES-13 and GOES-14, with orbital data coming from CelesTrak, also serving as an SSC update to the GOES-15 addon by gironde

Slight SSC update to toutatis/Jestr's Cassini-Huygens (2021) addon. Fixed some issues with the deployment sequence of Huygens as it detaches from Cassini on 2004-Dec-25, 02:00 UTC. With this update, it has restored Huygens's capability to accompany Cassini during their cruise to Saturn from 1997-2004, and thus no longer waits for that date to appear on simulation. Also, its name now disappears about 90 minutes after landing on Titan

Take note that this version is not yet compatible with Celestia Mobile. Will make a mobile adaptation based on the changes from this update in a few days

EDIT: Now available on Mobile since 2022-Feb-22
