62f DEM needs some work, water in it is messed up in itSevenSpheres wrote:You can thank Extrasolarplanets for that. I may or may not add the Kepler-62f texture to ExoplanetUpdates at some point; the other two aren't really usable since they have clouds attached.

There is a limit to how far we can travel into the stars.

Updated wostars.stc
I updated wostars.stc, adding in correct statistics (and possible ones for LMC195-1) for the now 12 WO stars (except [HC2007] 31).

Unfortunately I have had to make some of these addons no longer available to download (specifically, those containing fictional textures made by me) due to a worldbuilding wiki unrelated to Celestia using them without my permission and this being sanctioned by an admin there.
Edit, next day: I've made the addons downloadable again; I realize that restricting them doesn't really do anything since the damage was already done, and people still had the textures and could redistribute them. Additionally the situation on the wiki seems to be resolved. Sorry about that, I was really upset about this yesterday.

DON'T DO THAT, if i were you, i would make an account on that wiki (if you didn't do so already) and have a talk to those people there about your textures, so you can keep your addons alive, you shouldn't haft to shut down your addons all bc other people used some of your texturesSevenSpheres wrote:Unfortunately I have had to make some of these addons no longer available to download (specifically, those containing fictional textures made by me) due to a worldbuilding wiki unrelated to Celestia using them without my permission and this being sanctioned by an admin there.
remember the texture insadent with me and minmus (he used my aloke texture on his planet without my permission), if you go back to that, we got him to replace the texture with one that is not mine, you should make those wiki world builders that are steeling your textures to stop steeling and replace them with something they are allowed to use

yeah so BA 1-458 isn't a WO
I finally persuaded myself that BA 1-458 isn't a WO star. As you may know, I have a bias towards WO stars and I convinced myself that BA 1-458 is a WO star through telling myself it is a WO because the new classifications say so. Though, the VIIth catalog of galactic WR stars references older classifications, so BA 1-458 isn't a WO. It's a WC4.

no it actually is
wait, that's not true. WR 30a A was classified as a WO4 under the same criteria which classifies BA 1-458 as a WO4. So yeah it is a WO4, it was just that day I was feeling a bit tired.

Bugfix to epimetheus-janus.zip uploaded, fixing the orbits rendering with the wrong inclination in default (non-Origin) Celestia. Thanks to trappistplanets for making me aware of this issue.

Recent addons: TOI-700, updated ATNF pulsar catalog. Note that the latter is likely to result in conflicts with my older pulsar planets addon.

Releasing things I made and need to release...
Here's a model for Bennu I converted for Celestia in September. Source is the first, highest-resolution model here. This can be used with Askaniy's shaded or albedo Bennu texture. I could release a full addon, but there are people working on adding asteroids such as Bennu to default Celestia.

It looks like the original Google Drive upload of Askaniy's paleo-Earth maps (linked e.g. here) is gone. These maps are available as an addon on mobi and in Celestia Origin, but I'll reupload the original here for archival. These have been used, for example, to depict Ordovician Earth with hypothesized rings.
