Brand new Ulysses Solar polar probe model(s)!

Hey all

I've modelled the Ulysses solar polar probe- and for this craft there are 2 versions. In real life, it has two ~35m booms extending from the two sides of the craft, and two other smaller ones from the rear and bottom.
These mean that you can't really zoom in close to see the detail, so i've made another model with just the main spacecraft bus, and no booms. Here are some screenshots:

Sure you can. Just specify a negative altitude in the GoTo menu.

Ah i know that of course!! I just thought it'd be handy to be able to zoom in close to the craft without having to use the Goto option! Also, I find that sometimes when you zoom in at a negative altitude, objects in the mesh appear in front of each other when they shouldn't, & other strange things..

Your work makes me wish to start studying modelling, just to try myself to do something of this kind.
Perhaps, when I'll retire...

Jack...bloody great model...I don't have the booms though. I've downloaded both versions and they're the same model. I've probably ***ed up on this.

The foil effect is great. I love the esa logo too. 'bout time us Europeans got in on this one. (Bloody Yanks)...only joking.

you are right BH, both files link to the standard version (no booms)
Jack will probably fix it soon.

I have exams in 3 weeks, so i'll have to cut back on my celestia activities for a bit.. After that it's all free time though, so i'll have a go at Magellan if I can find some good diagrams of it in the meantime!
