This has nothing to do with Celestia.
If you see that I made a dumb or nonsensical post years ago, please forgive me in advance.

I doubt it - he has been on the forums for 9 months already...

Brief look tells me it's a summary of ideas written by subject' passionate. So, I think it should stay here
Still formally developer, but too tired to develop. I feel sad, but Celestia is going forward despite it.

Why should it stay here? This is plain off-topic.

This sub-forum is about physics. This topic is about physics. What's wrong?

Well, Celestia is astronomy and even though astronomy is a branch of physics this has nothing to do with Celestia and can't even relate to it.
It's obvious this is off-topic and doesn't belong here.

Are you blind or something?

If you look at the location of this thread:
Celestia Forums ‹ Discussion ‹ Physics and Astronomy
You can see that this post is not on any of the Celestia sections of the forums.

If you dont believe me, scroll to the top of the page, and click on Discussion. You wont see any Celestia sub-categories (other than Celestia Users), and you will see that the Physics and Astronomy section is not for Celestia stuff!

Alright, let me just settle this for once.

I don't think OP's post should stay here. Not only is he talking about water but also the post is more Meteorology than pure physics.

I don't think so. All his posts talk about the same thing. I think he's a spammer.

A discord member googled the stuff related to yuusop's post, and he found these links:
https://www.thenakedscientists.com/forum/index.php?topic=73127.0
https://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=34231.0

The same person posted EXACTLY the same stuff in those forums as well. Judging by the contents of those posts, it appears he is looking for a debate to happen. It worked on the first two forums, so don't reply to him with stuff.

Also, I'm not trying to fight with Gurren Lagann, but I'm just expressing how this situation should be handled in my opinion.

I see you decided to ban our excentric guest. I still disagreed. Let me try explain my view possibly clear:

1. Floods and waether is, of course, no an astrophysics, but surely kind of physics (with highly practical context, what should be even more appreciated). Moreover, context is "celestial", what make it (indirectly, as subforum states) linked with Celestia. But this is formal side.

2. Copying of own s tuff over the Internet isnt formally prohibited, both in general netiquette and in Celestia forum rules. There are only 2 other places found, where Yuzup posted his theory. Spamer posts his stuff wherever it's technically possible, without concerning regulations. Also looking for a debate is an essential role of discussion forum, isnt it? I would do the same if I would have something very important. Floods are real danger, it takes many lifes every year. It's surely important subject.

3. The only formal issues I found with Yuzup are "flood" - post below post instead of editing previous one, but many other members does the same (and I'm not even sure it is prohibited here) and creation of another topic with duplicated subject. The right reaction, imho, should be merging both topic (I tried to do this but you deleted the stuff already), and tell (or warn) Yuzup to not duplicate topics. If he would do it again, then could be banned, but not permanently, and his stuff should remain.

4. If stuff of Yuzup was a spam and was deleted, then why his second topic with our _surely off topic_ disscussion remained?

Here is what I think we should do:
1. Restore deleted Yuzup posts (if possible) and merge it in one topic.
2. Unban Yuzup and excuse him for a mess.
3. Tell him to not start new topic to gain attention. Adding new post to old one or even edit existing post should "bump" topic effectively.

As I'm not going to argue with anybody, if you (or forum "consensus") will still disagree, I'm just going to resign from moderation privileges. This is my final statement in this subject.
Still formally developer, but too tired to develop. I feel sad, but Celestia is going forward despite it.

I sent you a message. I'd rather let our disagreements be settled among ourselves. But for everyone else, I do say he's not here to join us and be a Celestian, he's here to start an argument.

@Lafuente_Astronomy

Apparently you have read my long message very briefly. I refered to all mentioned issues, including copying stuff. As you can see, even I copied my own stuff over this forum to be ensured it will be read by everyone involved in disscussion.

I see many accounts on our forum with merely a few or no posts at all. They all apparently are not going to be Celedtia community members anymore. Are they banned arleady? Are their posts deleted?

There is nothing wrong with starting debates. On the other hand I see no evidence Yuzup wanted to start argument.

You also confused institutional (or mainstream) science with true science. I remember you were already excited about antigravity propulsion and free energy, witch is obviously "alternative science" and was posted by me personally. I also started thread about Electric Universe Theory where I seriously call mainstream cosmology pure pseudoscience. And I'm really surprised there is still no flamewar there, while here appatently started. Well, maybe it's time to delete my topic too and ban me here and on the Github as a hidden spamer, even more dangerous than Yuzup?

How come this thread wasn't deleted when the argument-starting first post was?
