Gironde, for the ISEE spacecraft addons, try using Jack Higgins' old ICE spacecraft models.

All ISEE probes share the same bus. Technically, it is available already on the Motherlode as the ICE (ISEE-3) spacecraft

The WIND model... the radius of spacecraft is 1,2 meters... so guys, correct it in SSC-file (write 0.0012 there)... use SSC-file by Gironde...

I currently working with VIKING ORBITERS models too... lot of work... the model from ORBITER is too bad... I will make lot of changes there... I got the orbital data for these great spacecrafts...

Can we see the whole mission? Journey of the orbiters until arriving at Mars, attached with the probes of landing, separation of the probes and landing and orbits of the orbitadores until the end of the mission?

@Diigg... Thanks very much too... at the moment for these spacecrafts I have only the data for the orbit from 7 August 1980 (Viking-1)... and the orbit from 25 July 1978 (Viking-2)... but I will try to find more information about the orbital parameters of Viking-1,2...

"The orbiter primary mission ended at the beginning of solar conjunction on November 5, 1976. The extended mission commenced on December 14, 1976, after solar conjunction. Operations included close approaches to Phobos in February 1977. The periapsis was reduced to 300 km on March 11, 1977. Minor orbit adjustments were done occasionally over the course of the mission, primarily to change the walk rate — the rate at which the areocentric longitude changed with each orbit, and the periapsis was raised to 357 km on July 20, 1979. On August 7, 1980, Viking 1 Orbiter was running low on attitude control gas and its orbit was raised from 357 × 33943 km to 320 × 56000 km to prevent impact with Mars and possible contamination until the year 2019. Operations were terminated on August 17, 1980, after 1485 orbits. A 2009 analysis concluded that, while the possibility that Viking 1 had impacted Mars could not be ruled out, it was most likely still in orbit."

Unfortunately, I think there is an error in the LOCATOR database for ISEE-1 and ISEE-2. You have all noticed a loop in the orbit that is completely opposite to the others. This loop does not need to be.

I studied the following coordinates in the xyz file of ISEE-1.

This error occurred between 03-04-1987 and 05-04-1987. For the day of 04-04-1987, there is no data, and the figures provided for the 3 and 5 seem false (too different from the others). Unfortunately I could not correct because I can not invent coordinates.

It will be necessary in the immediate time this content of these files. I did not do the study for ISEE-2 but the error does not seem to be at the same date.

so 1.2m (cylindrical body) + 6m (radial boom) = 7.20m (radius of the sphere containing the model)

MFI (Magnetic Field Investigation):
MFI PI: R. Lepping, NASA/GSFC. Objectives: investigation of the structure and fluctuations of the interplanetary magnetic field (transport of energy and acceleration of particles in the solar wind). Instrument: Magnetometer measures the intensity and direction of magnetic field vector. The MFI instrument consists of dual triaxial fluxgate magnetometers mounted on a 12 m radial boom, and a data processing and control unit within the spacecraft bus. The magnetometer sensors each produce analog signals proportional to the strength of the magnetic field component aligned with the sensor. These signals are then digitized and processed by a microprocessor controlled data system.

I have tried several and none is true.
On August 6, 2014, the probe should be 100Km away.
In Celestia, with your addon, the probe is located at almost 2 million kilometers. Something is wrong somewhere and I know what it is. :sad:

I have the orbital data from HORIZONS for ROSETTA... for full mission... so I will prepare it... from the start of mission to rendezvous with comet the orbit of Rosetta will be heliocentric... but from 5 August 2014 to 5 October 2016 the central body for the orbit will be Comet 67P / Churyumov-Gerasimenko...

There may be errors in the Locator database; that I can not say.
But are there any errors in the orbital data of 67P? To have.

I was able to correct the path error for ISEE-1 and ISEE-2.
In each file, I deleted 2 lines
for ISEE-1: 1983 93rd day h3.00 and 1983 95th day h12.63333
for ISEE-2: 1981 20th day h2.81667 and 1981 22nd day h12.41667

The unwanted loop has disappeared

Added after 1 hour 4 minutes:
For Rosetta, I have 2 ssc files.
- ssc ArtBlos with a timeline at 3 epochs:

This file with Spice does not work because I must miss files.

EllipticalOrbit descriptions are generalist. They describe an orbit at a given moment and apply it to the entire timeline of which they are part. This induces errors in relation to reality.

To match Rosetta and 67P at the time of their meeting, it would take a xyz file for everyone at the same time.

Would someone have the model for the Philae lander?

It does not add too much precision to the design of the orbit, but refines the position of the comet which has a period of revolution that oscillates around 6.50 years.


put .ssc in your folder for 67P (apart from LUT5, 'Visible false' and 'Clickable true', can be disabled)
put .xyzv in your data for 67P
disable your old files .ssc and .xyzv

indeed, there are transparencies but I did not find what produced them. The surfaces are described as opaque.
