Atlas-5-Centaur... version 401...

I am very glad that the list of carrier rockets is replenished.
Sketches in the previous post say that there will be models without the 1 st stage and without 1-2stages?

What is the interest to modelize rockets ? :think:

Celestia is not orbiter, isn't it !

It is a beautiful model, Toutatis, but it is necessary to correct the radius because 0.07 makes a rocket of 140m high.
The different Wikipedia give a height of 58m30 which makes a radius of 0.02915

It is a rocket of this type that launched the InSight satellite from the Vandenberg base on 05 May 2018.

Ok, guys... my current work is Mars Observer... yes, it was an unsuccessful mission... but anyways it was a great spacecraft... I just got orbital data from NASA archive... for interplanetary cruise and after rapprochement with Mars... all orbits is geliocentric... so I will write SSC-file with "timeline"...

Yes, I'm agree with this, but at this day none rocket never went to space entirely (lonely few stages), right ? :wink:

Where did you locate each rocket, on ground (one launch complex for X rockets) on space ?

For educational side, it's bad because not real ! :oops:

The scenario is done little by little. Everyone can participate.
To do this, you need the rocket on the firing point, the separation of the different stages, orbiting the satellites.
You need every 3D model and the .ssc files that put all that in order.
It is clear that Toutatis is making efforts to describe the different orbits of a satellite that leaves the Earth to finally land on Mars. For such a trip, it is necessary to describe each intermediate orbit. It's complicated and you have to find the elements on Horizon or Satcat.
You have to start with something.

Sure, even children know that... lol..

jujuapapa... No one force you to use spacecrafts or rockets in YOUR Celestia... You can stay with Black Holes or something else like that to the end of Universe... :biggrin:

Toutatis, on your alternative Compton GRO model, the long pole with the High Gain Antenna is on the wrong side of the craft.

Possible... but the original model from ORBITER... But maybe I can change it... later...

You can use another model, which I prepared before...

The Mars Observer spacecraft, also known as the Mars Geoscience/Climatology Orbiter, was a robotic space probe launched by NASA on September 25, 1992 to study the Martian surface, atmosphere, climate and magnetic field. During the interplanetary cruise phase, communication with the spacecraft was lost on August 21, 1993, 3 days prior to orbital insertion. CM1215... do you want I convert it?... all models in ORBITER in (.msh)... I convert it in (.3ds) only, and after I prepare it for Celestia... but I will try to convert it in (.obj) for you... ok
