To change satellites, I adapted 2 add-on for launchers:
Saturn V positioned at Cape Canaveral but without the representation of the environment of the firing point
Proton-M positioned in Baikonour and who benefits from the add-on on the rocket N1
this linuxman add-on can be downloaded at http://www.celestiamotherlode.net/creators/linuxman/N1-Lune.zip

Many thanksTo change satellites, I adapted 2 add-on for launchers:
Saturn V positioned at Cape Canaveral but without the representation of the environment of the firing point
Proton-M positioned in Baikonour and who benefits from the add-on on the rocket N1
I see an imbalance in the size of the launch pad for H1 and the Proton M missile.
The idea is interesting

yes it is not the pad for Proton (~ 57m) but that of N1 (~ 110m)
but we do with what we have
previously, we have discussed the model of j002e3 which is none other than S-IVB 507 adrift.
The replacement models I have looked for all have something missing.
That of Croc is not good because the engine had only one nozzle. And the others could not be edited because there was only one face.
On the other hand why not take in copy the model and the textures of the S-IVB of Apollo 10 that we have in the pack Apollo 10 on Motherlode.

Le 3ème étage S-IVB est le même pour Apollo 10, 11, 12 ...
Je suis d'accord avec la décision de Gironde.

Hi Gironde and Croc.
As you told, the compared dimensions between N-1 launch Pad and Proton-M rocket are wrong, so I tried a simple solution, i.e. I modified the Proton-M radius, and at the same time I increased the height above ground, to compensate for increased size.
This was simple, just two lines to change in Proton M-Pad.ssc file:
Here the result:
But, alas, We have another problem: the Proton-M model has wrong dimensions, i.e. it's too "slim".
If you take a look at the second image,
you find in #1 the image of the real machine, in #2 the model with same height, and in image #3 the comparison, with the stage A equal length/diameter.
As you see the problem is in the second stage, about 30% longer than the real one.
And moreover, as shown in image #3,
the junction between second and third stage is transparent, with a look to the inside (why red? ).
Sorry for this, but the model is not real, IMHO, so I suggest not to include it in Celestia next release.
My opinion, obviously.
Bye.
Goofy

The Time History of Events and Macroscale Interactions during Substorms (THEMIS) mission began in February 2007 as a constellation of five NASA satellites (THEMIS A through THEMIS E) to study energy releases from Earth's magnetosphere known as substorms, magnetic phenomena that intensify auroras near Earth's poles. The name of the mission is an acronym alluding to the Titan, Themis.
Three of the satellites orbit the Earth within the magnetosphere, while two have been moved into orbit around the Moon. Those two were renamed ARTEMIS for Acceleration, Reconnection, Turbulence and Electrodynamics of the Moon’s Interaction with the Sun. THEMIS B became ARTEMIS P1 and THEMIS C became ARTEMIS P2.

So THEMIS satellites for Celestia...

Hello Gironde... NOAA models have defect... please, let's do not use models with defects for Celestia... I worked with this model, but becoz I still have no solution about how to made this model better, I did not posted it here... thanks very much for work, but let's make models more realistic...

A new look at the GOES-P satellite... the model colors was corrected and fixed some small errors in SSC-file... there it was written GEOS instead of GOES...

Goofy,
the idea of cheating on the size of the rocket and the size of the Baikonour site is interesting.
Comparisons between the model and the photos found on the web is tricky because there have been many versions of Proton M including the medium version and the light version smaller
see :
http://russianspaceweb.com/proton-medium.html
http://www.b14643.de/Spacerockets_1/East_Europe_2/Proton-M/Description/Text.htm
wikipedia EN, FR, ... sites all provide different dimensions.
Regarding transparency, I corrected the problem.
Why this transparency existed:
most of the models we find on the web have been made by model enthusiasts and intended to be printed in 3D to make models, sometimes very impressive realism. I found on a site a model of this type for Saturn V which was no less than 500Mo, all floors were removable to see the interior with the LEM for example. It is for this reason that under the outer panels, there are interior elements also modeled (for Proton, in red).
Added after 9 minutes 11 seconds:
Toutatis,
I know that some models are not at the top. We are not experienced modelers but that is why we do not need these models.
You've changed some of the old add-on that we've been happy with for years. The coming years will allow us to have new models more real given the proliferation of 3D models of all kinds with the advent of 3D printers.
Recently, we have added or modified some 80 satellites (all versions)

OrbitView 2 or SeaStar
Enough information on this marine / weather imaging satellite manufactured by Orbit Image
on the bottom of the satellite, there are two blue panels and nonexistent panels that leave the satellite open at this location but the inside of the bottom is not vectorized and leaves an inadequate transparency. So I preferred to put gray semi-transparent panels that erase a little this unpleasant effect.

Satellite SAC-C
manufactured by CONAE, Argentinean space agensy, it carries instruments from NASA and other agencies.
study of the conditions and dynamics of the environment and the terrestrial and marine biosphere.
Added after 4 minutes 57 seconds:
Toutatis,
I love this model.
Strongly that the telescope is in operation to provide us with beautiful images of the universe.

Hi gironde.
You are right about the Proton-M model, the one you imported and modified for Celestia in one of the (numerous) versions built during the Proton long history.
To be sure of this I asked in Russian for "Proton-M versions" (a good way to solve doubts is to search in original language local pages ), and I found this:
https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%9F%D1%80%D0%BE%D1%82%D0%BE%D0%BD_(%D1%80%D0%B0%D0%BA%D0%B5%D1%82%D0%B0-%D0%BD%D0%BE%D1%81%D0%B8%D1%82%D0%B5%D0%BB%D1%8C)
If you input the link in Google Translator you obtain a comprehensive page that gives the needed answers.
So thank you for the transparency correction, now it's perfect and moreover one of the best detailed space models in Celestia, very appreciated:
