What's wrong with comets ?

This isn't exactly a bug, but what's wrong with this comet rendering ?

If you don't see the problem, I'm wondering why you're using Celestia (ahaa, Star Trek crap ! It's really doing dammages for the appreciation of real astronomy).

That comet rendering is HUGE (see the Earth's orbit).

Celestia just scales the tail with the temperature of the nucleus IIRC. So I would expect this sort of rendering, even if it is, as you mention, unrealistic. Not sure what exactly one would do about it.

And for the record, I, too, am tiring of the saturation of this forum with Star Trek material. This is coming from a ST fan, too.

Windows 7 64 bit. Celestia 1.6.0.
