What exactly do you find so improbable about the presence of liquid sulphuric acid on Venus?

What do you think the clouds are made of? (Hint: droplets)

And as for the slight yellowish colour of sulphuric acid mentioned in the Wikipedia article, it is very slight (most of the time it is best regarded as colourless), certainly very unlike the garish yellow colour you seem to favour...

Interesting debate. I think if one look to Venus from space or from its surface he sees it like in the picture because the proper atmospheric issues: gray-blue. But if sulphur is on the surface and one bring back on Earth a shovelful of Venus' soil, we should see it yellowish; more or less like the color of the sulfur is on Earth. On the other hand, due to the proper Mars' atmospheric issues, we see it reddish from space and from its soil; as consequence, the shovelful of iron ore there, here should be reddish as the iron ore is on Earth.

Here's a small video I have made for my addon Boliverius Alvera Sagittarii

I will create more videos, if someone knows how I can record videos on Celestia, when I am recording videos, it is lagging as hell
Is it something I can do that it will not lag?

I posted two videos to YouTube while shatters was down.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sTTmCn5DjhI
This was the Earth re-centering project I mentioned in the pics thread. :P

Cuz of no shadow, I had make an entirely new Earth, moving and marking invisible the original default Earth.

The other, a more simple one, involving Belle Hades and Delta Tri:

Neither have any audio though. :?

john Van Vliet wrote:that lag is normal and is NOT in the video

save file as say 1920x1080 at 24 fps " name.ogg" ( or ogv )
get things ready
hit f11 to start
hit f11 again to pause/unpause
wait
hit f12 to stop

or write a lua script to do what you want

It can be the newest version of Celestia that does it, that maybe I need to have 1.6.0
But I see also that it is the atmosphere in 1.6.1 that does it lag, when I get near atmosphere, for example Earth, it starts to lag a lot

That is when this are added to atmosphere:

Mie 0.001
MieAsymmetry -0.25
Rayleigh [ 0.001 0.0025 0.006 ]
MieScaleHeight 12

Do I need to remove it, so it doesn't lag?

Do clone the desktop on a external blueray recorder attached to the graphic card.

Try defragmenting your computer's disk.

One cause of choppiness when recording is writing to a badly fragmented disk. If the operating system has to keep moving the disk's read/write heads, it'll slow down the data transfer significantly.

Ok, w/e, some of ya may get mad at me for posting this, but screw it, I'm posting anyway. :P

Before I start, I'd like to apologize in advance for messy crediting during the credits sequences of these videos -- I'm totally clueless and in way over my head when it comes to proper crediting. And to clarify, "Belle Hades" is me; it's a user name I use on an offsite forum with a group of friends, as these videos were mainly for me to be a show-off, admittedly.

And, I tried sharing these links via an email to an entirely different friend, but they apparently had trouble of some sort, so if individual access doesn't work, try this link: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/4wsi4yqvnpe9 ... tia/videos
(Recent modify dates were because I moved them to their own folder, as they were previously in the preceding folder (Celestia), plus one of them is entirely new which I haven't shown my friends yet.)

This first one is the opening sequence to a fictitious film version of my short story. I did decide to try to add some humor with the ending credits though, so I apologize for any idiocy on my part.

An alternate opening sequence to my story. I plead the fifth on this one. Image
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/3610210/Celest ... skies2.wmv

Some of you might recall that I "Pandorafied" our homeworld. Here's a video I made. It's a bit long, but I hope you like. :)
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/3610210/Celest ... Earth2.wmv

This one is a remake of an old video I made for the same group of friends, but with better graphics and resolution.
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/3610210/Celest ... adesHD.wmv

Same music as one of the other videos, I'm afraid, but it's still pretty good, IMO.
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/3610210/Celest ... mories.wmv

And finally, New Horizons arrives at Pluto.
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/3610210/Celest ... rizons.wmv
(It'd be nice if the forum software allowed spoiler boxes/tags. Most other forums do nowadays, IIRC.)
**SPOILER ALERT**(Although, there are way too many background objects that I neglected to remove for this video.  . Hypothetical debris ring made with asteroid maker; complete with proper orbit periods, thanks to a "cheat" I devised. I'll post it eventually in Tutorials. :P )**/SPOILER ALERT**

Odd. I gave my friend the link to the entire folder instead of the links to the individual videos, and he said they downloaded much faster when he used the link to the folder, which is in my post above too. :?

EDIT: Ok, I figured it out, the very first link in my post is the one to the folder itself. Click that, click on a video, and then click the download button on the bottom right corner of the screen. Does that work?

EDIT 2: I looked at my dropbox preferences, and changed the download limit to 300 kbs. Does that work either?

I had a dream a few days ago where we were observing a star for transiting planets, and we discovered a Jovian/super-jovian that had a whole plethora of Earth-sized exomoons orbiting it, AND a very, very new torus of hot magma within the planet's roche limit, because a body of similar size to the other moons had been completely disrupted in the past few months or weeks or even days.

And apparently, somewhere along the line, I got uber-vision and saw the most recent transit myself, in impossibly good detail, and saw that the magma torus around the planet was a mess, because the planet was a fast rotator, but had a moderately high inclined magnetic field, and a significant portion of the magma was magnetized and trying to align with both the planet's equator and the magnetic field.

Awesome CGI included. 8)

So, I decided to try to re-create it in Celestia, creating a fictitious star and using Cham's wonderful sprites models. :D

Hi,

this is a little video (1mn 05s) made with the new version of the navigation toos with 3D cockpits.
http://youtu.be/YMdhWataEjs

The models are Fungun's work

And a very short video (14 seconds): Flying the Atlantis Shuttle near the ISS
Note the little movement of the shuttle to avoid a too static effect.
http://youtu.be/e6BLuEc19f0

The Shuttle is by El Christou

As usual increase the size and the quality settings of the youtube videos.
