Why isn't the user guide on a wiki?
Is this a hosting issue? a copyright issue?
Re: Why isn't the user guide on a wiki?
Most likely because the author (Frank Gregorio) wanted to be able to fully control how the information is displayed. He uses it for the astronomy classes that he teaches. You probably should contact him if you want to port it to WikiBooks, for example.

Hi. Just ran across your post.
I have no objection to porting the users Guide (now for 161) to Wiki. I don't know how to do it automatically, but if you are up to it, please feel free to port the Guide.
The issue will be updating. Each time there is a significant update, the Users Guide is also updated. Wiki would need to be edited.
