Re: Post your Celestia pictures!
Running 2xCelestia simultaneously on my computer would see lots of smoke coming from the CPU
I've just been looking at various websites about Martian transits of Deimos and Phobos observed by most of the Mars Landers and orbiters over the years, and didn't realise Phobos appears so 'large' in the sky.
This inspired me to check out a transit of Phobos observed by Opportunity in March 2004, and got a pretty decent Celestia result - here's the screenshot.
Transit of Phobos from Opportunity landing site 8 March 2004
and the Cel//url link cel://SyncOrbit/Sol:Mars/2004-03-08T01: ... rc=0&ver=3
According to Wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transit_of_Phobos_from_Mars, many photos of the eclipse shadow have been taken and they give an example from Mars Global Surveyor of a eclipse shadow cast by Phobos on 26 Aug 1999 at 04:00:33 UTC at 10.9°N 49.2°W .
However getting a screenshot of this eclipse shadow has so far eluded me

Here's a little something I've been working on...hopefully it will be released soon...a small system in the multiple star complex of Zeta Cancri, aka Tegmine.

Re: Post your Celestia pictures!
Here's VikingJPL's double transit of Mars' moons from the beginning of Deimos' transit (and not tracking the Sun):
cel://SyncOrbit/Sol:Mars/2000-05-19T05:26:53.30203?x=jjGk7J5CFA&y=5zafJbx1AQ&z=4Oa+aXjgCw&ow=-0.133931&ox=-0.869214&oy=-0.220414&oz=0.421839&select=Sol:Mars&fov=0.756463&ts=1<d=0&p=0&rf=302471&lm=49156&tsrc=0&ver=3
but to the naked eye, it's going to look more like this:

Watch it for a couple of minutes...

Re: Post your Celestia pictures!
The colour on my old Betelgeuse add-on for Orion's Arm was unrealistically red, so I've remade it
There is a bit of a nebula in place around the star too, representing the considerable mass of ejected material this star is throwing off constantly.
Here's a Youtube video showing the irregular shape of this massive star changing over time (unfortunately the nebula isn't animated)

That is pretty awesome!
It looks like there's actually things in the windows. Is it this way for all the windows or just those in the botany lab?

Just the botanical section. It's a full 3D section complete with trees and paths.Hungry4info wrote:That is pretty awesome!

Return of the spaceman.
Re: Post your Celestia pictures!
A new addon in the works. Star Trek III spacedock.
A view from the botanical section of the Enterprise..
A few other vessels in dock.
Also, there are a handful of shuttles orbiting within the dock but unfortunately do not show up in the screen shots very well.

Reiko,
Your work is INCREDIBLE! I particular like your July 11 post, where the tiny astronaut gives a sense of scale to the mighty Enterprise.
Fantastic stuff!

Thank you but keep in mind I'm importing these wonderful models into Celestia, I'm not the creator of them.

Inside the Enterprise...
Is no finished but is getting there.
EDIT: I shall be uploading the Spacedock to the motherload soon if anybody is interested.
