Linux bugs with 2.5

I am kind of new to Celestia. I first downloaded in in Windows at work, and was amazed. So I downloaded Celestia 1.2.5 to my Linux machine at home and it compiled just fine. (RedHat 7.3, KDE 3.0)
It runs OK, except for the message upon startup:
Parent body 'TYC 5503-946-1' of 'b' not found.

The real bug I am seeing is with add-ons. I added the black hole, and the star wars addons. When I go to those locations, the window just turns black en route. It happens every time. Also, sometimes with normal locations (not addons) the screen goes black, and the only thing that shows is the planetary names (which I have turned on).

These issues may or may not be related, I just wondered if this is something anyone else has seen. I only have a 16MB video card, but when it is running it is quite fast with no glitches. This is on a Duron 1.3 w/384MB memory.

Sorry for the followup, I forgot to put the type of video card in my post. It is an ATI Rage AGP, using the ATI Mach64 Rage IIc driver.
