avatar problem

this isnt a bug with celestia, but more of a bug with the forum. i recently tried to post an avatar in my profile, just to have a little more to look at in messages, but it seems even though i follow all the requirements (size, file type, etc) it still wont work. any ideas? i've tried .gif, .jpg, and .png

I think its disabled in the forum preferences...Chris will have to uncheck that in admin...

In some other forums I've used, people have really gotten carried away with the avatar images. As a result, the forum pages take forever to download and the forum becomes unusable. And you thought the Celestia Forum gets slow now!

Also, some people like to use images that are, shall we say, inappropriate. It's less stress on everyone to not support them at all than to get into fights over what images should and should not be allowed.

actually i dont, i've never had a problem with the forum, but i know other people have, so i guess it wouldn't be that good an idea to enable it

This form can take ages to load as it is...

And in some other forums, the pages start to look like a bad graffiti wall.
