hires moon texture

Where can I get a high resolution texture for the moon (Luna)? I see in the default solarsystem.ssc file that there is a commented line mentioning a moon4k.dss file. I got all the goodies from the texture foundary site but this file isn't there. Does it really exist somewhere?

There's an 8k version of the moon on dasmirnov ftp server.

Oops!

Pasting the direct link in IE doesn't work (i didn't know) but if you go to ftp://ftp.dasmirnov.net/astronomy/celestia/textures/pixel/ and try download it manually by right clicking you should have no problem. But the best way to download it is by using a ftp program, I've checked right now and the texture is still there :wink:
