Thanks for the feed back. I am aware that the aurora actualy goes around the magnetic poles not the geographic ones. The only image i found of the aurora was black and white so of cousre it had no sense of scale. I did try and make it dip a little over north america. With the info you have posted I will try and modify it as best I can. I might have to resort to drawing it out in Photoshop to get it in the right position. The southern aurora didn't quite turn out as well as I wanted it to. But this was just the first public trail of this idea so its at least a start. Thanks again for the info and I will see what I can do.
