I'm looking for people's opinions of the freeware 3D modeling packages posted in Seldon's List (Anim8or, Blender3D, etc). I'm wondering which of them to be the better package overall for design of Celestia models. I have a project I'd like to undertake, my first, a satellite.
Thanks!
Looking for opinions...

POVray is a very good freeware 3D modeller ( http://www.povray.org ), but it's rather different to the ones you were looking for opinions of (for one thing, it's a programming language/script based thing, you don't create the models visually) and I don't think it's all that compatible with Celestia. However, it's a darn good modeller in its own right.
My Celestia page: Spica system, planetary magnitudes script, updated demo.cel, Quad system
