I think it varies by community. This isn't really a community that's based on "requests". On some forums, like scifi-meshes.com there are specific boards on which to make requests, and someone
might take up the request. But here, people are generally expected to make the effort to at the very least learn how to write ssc and stcs themselves. It's how we all started, I think - where we stop depends on how far we want to go. I can make some nice sscs and stcs, I can write scripts, but I can't progam C++ (now, FORTRAN on the other hand...). But over time I've learnt enough to be able to create what I want in Celestia, and I've done it off my own back - asking for help when I needed it obviously, but not expecting others to just make stuff for me when I could do it myself.
It really isn't hard to write sscs and stcs. avpruler can easily do it himself, if he's that keen to see his system. The trick is to learn to walk before you can run though.
