How to get started?

Post #1by sofasurfer » 10.01.2003, 08:02

I downloaded Celestia. When I click on it a window opens that says 'Celestia' on top but my pc freezes immediately and the desktop is still visible.

I am running WinME with 384 mgs and my video card is a S3 Savage 3D.

Is my card causing the problem? Should I be able to run Celestia? Should I give up?

Thanks...

My card is like from 1995 era. It has 8 mgs. Its an AGP (whatever that it) I was just told that it probably doesn't support OpenGL .

yep that would be the problem

for good results, try to upgrade your video card to at least a Gforce 2 64meg,
or above.

Celestia Is optimized for an Nvida Chip set.
and getting better with ATi cards too.

you wonrt regret the upgrade for this program
