The Milankovitch Mechanism

Hello everybody !

Does anybody know how to show Milankovitch mechanism (the eccentricity, precession and tilt, here is some information about this http://eesc.ldeo.columbia.edu/courses/ees/climate/lectures/cl_record.html) on Celestia ?
I need it for a report and i'm totaly a beginner.
How to increase the size of planets, how to only show earth's orbit, show an axial ?

Unfortunately, Celestia only has support for precession of the equinoxes. To include the other long term changes you'd have to use Celestia v1.5.0 (currently in prerelease) and create a ScriptedOrbit.

Unfortunately, ScriptedOrbit functions are not for a beginner. They require understanding of the Lua programming language and of orbital mechanics.

How to increase the size of planets

Edit solarsys.ssc to specify a different Radius for the planet, write an SSC catalog which uses the Modify parameter to change the Radius, or install an Orrey Addon.

how to only show earth's orbit

Enable Show Orbits but deselect all of the orbit options. The orbit path of the currently selected object is drawn in red. But that's probably not what you really want. I suspect you want to watch the orbit change over the millenia. Celestia can't do that.

show an axial ?

I assume you mean "rotational axis". Celestia v1.5.0 can show all three axes, but presumably that's not what you want. To show just the rotational axis you'd need to create or use an Addon similar to the one described at http://www.lepp.cornell.edu/~seb/celest ... les.html#5

Sorry: what you want would be a major undertaking, and probably wouldn't be finished in the time you have available.
