Hi to all,
I am a new member but i am enjoying using Celestia since ver. 1.3 and very thrilled and facinated of its magnificense and simplicity but realistic behavior and capabilities. Actually i found by chance a much similar software called space in 1994 on a Unix system (before WIN95) which was brought temporarily to my workplace and i had a chance to use it for only a week, and eversince I was desperate to find a similar thing until I was lucky to find Celestia few years ago. I want to thank all those who brought this magnifecent program to existance.
I want to ask about something, I noticed that the milkyway had 4 spiral arms in ver 3.1 then changed to two arms in ver 1.4 and now it has about five arms.. can this be explained? or is there a new discovery that i am missing?
much obliged,
Raffi

Welcome!
No, no new discovery here, it's just that previous version of Celestia use some basic templates for galaxies, but since a few time now the MW own a customized template to match the actual available data. No doubt, the present template is the good one!
