Post sorting by date

Post #1by buggs_moran » 07.01.2008, 14:01

I know we've pursued this before Selden but is there any way to have the forum list all posts by date without going through each category? There are many times that I have wanted to see recent posts and made a mistake so that it returns there are no new posts.

Unfortunately, phpbb does not seem to have that functionality. When that happens to me, I usually go to the forum home page and look at the forums individually. Postings are sorted in date order within each individual forum.

I run local forum powered by phpBB2 and I solved this problem by installing some hack which displays last posts trough RSS chanel. This way I can add the RSS to my browser and check the latest posts anytime without vitising the site.

That works, it is the same thing we do on the CM; the website sidebar uses it to list the most recent posts via RSS. It is a phpbb2 hack, but it should work on phpbb3 too. You can simply put it in it as a javascript include in the template footer, for example. You?ll find it at the http://www.phpbbhacks.com site.
