Here, you might enjoy this. It's "Now We Are Free," composed by Hans Zimmer and sung by Lisa Gerrard.

For something a little bit more in your face, try:

(Careful, it's 32 minutes long)

I like this music! There is a flow to it and I know that movie. :)

I listened to it and it is too sudden in the differences. It is smooth then changes to harshness then back to smooth. It is anger.

Wiki says the following about it: "The first movement is in sonata form, and the mood is often stormy."

(You may prefer the 3rd or 4th movements)

I've only cried while listening to music once, and it was while watching this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vzoubJEO-nU

I actually just started watching it again and almost started to cry again. I had to stop watching it, lol. I really don't know why it does this to me. I don't think it's the song. Maybe it's because I've actually played FF8. I did love that game. It was my first Final Fantasy.

That's a good music. My cousin gave me a Journey CD no long ago and I've listened to the whole thing 5 times now. :)

That first one was beautiful! I'm finding I like music with strings and piano the best.
In the second one what was he playing? It had keys kind of like piano but it didn't look or sound anything like piano.

He's playing a Pipe Organ, which in this case is driven by air. The controls you see the assistant manipulating are called Stops (the Wiki link gives a good explanation of their purpose). If you ever get the chance, go and listen to one in person, you'll find it quite an experience, their sound has such presence. :D

IJN - The mousetrap.
PS. The text of the song is quite obscure poetry, completely irrelevant to the video, so the knowledge of Russian is not required.
PPS. Please, everybody, don?€™t search a subtext in this message.

Some of my favourite opera music...

(Health warning Reiko... some of these may well make you cry... )

... so let's get the obvious one out of the way first:
Pavarotti - Nessun Dorma

and then from Madama Butterfly: we have...

1. Maria Callas & Nicolai Gedda - "Vogliatemi Bene"
2. Maria Callas - "Un bel di"

More Pucinni ...
3. Maria Callas - "O Mio Babbino Caro"

and finally one more by Callas: Sempre Libera
(For this one, you may need to adjust your frequency response  )

Beethoven's birthday was just a couple days ago. Did everybody play some of his music at full volume in his honor? :)

Yes actually, my local classical FM station played quite a bit in his honor - all day! Umm... the volume was only at 1/4 though.

Thank you for all of the music suggestion guys. I really liked the Mozart Lord Ferret. I also liked the Pavarotti Chuft Captain though I don't know what he is singing about it.

What do you guys think of this one?

Beautiful. Blade Runner was an awesome movie, way ahead of its time. 8) As for Vangelis, I liked his music right from the first time ever hearing it. Of course the best way to experience Vangelis (in my opinion anyway  ), is not through the visual interpretations of YouTube videos... but rather by sitting back, closing your eyes, listening, and letting your own mind flow and build images with his music. :D
