Two questions: 1) Where are the galaxy models (and the cool transparent, density like, 3D textures) or are they hard-coded into Celestia? 2) I checked the script FAQ, but can't find the commands for tracking an object and changing the FOV (I wanted to make a script following and observing a solar eclipse...). Can you tell me what they are?
Hans.
Q: Galaxy models and script commands
Hans,
The generation of the blobby galaxy renditions is indeed hard coded.
The Web page describing the script commands has not been updated to correspond to v1.2.5 -- after all, it isn't formally released yet.
I've written some rather cryptic notes about what I've found by perusing the source code on SourceForge. They include a little information about the parameters that the galaxy generation code uses as well as a lengthy list of script commands. See http://www.lns.cornell.edu/~seb/celestia/celestia_notes.html
I hope this helps a little.
