post your Celestia pictures here.
These are my first pictures I have taken on Celestia.
Tell me what you think. I would also like to see your pictures too.
System: Microsoft Windows XP, Home Edition, Version 2002, Service pack 2

Interesting multigalactic shots.
You can find many pictures submitted by other Celestia users on the "Post your Celestia pictures" thread, browsing the previous pages and such. Many of them are really quite exquisite. Unfortunately, I've little talent for taking good Celestia pictures.
It would have probably been better to post these in the already existant pictures thread. That's what it's there for.
Current Setup:
Windows 7 64 bit. Celestia 1.6.0.
AMD Athlon Processor, 1.6 Ghz, 3 Gb RAM
ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics

I didn??t find the other topic. Here is Itokawa:

I would like to download that model too.
Here is something a bit different:
A rotating open air habitat, as described by Forrest Bishop
http://www.orionsarm.com/movies/Bishop3.wmv
this will be included in the latest update to the Orion's Arm Universe, which will be hosted on the OA Site itself (although I might put a copy on the Motherlode too). This should have about a thousand planets, moons and spacecraft to explore.

It??s in the same place of the model of Eros:

Thanks for that.
Here is an image of Itokawa asteroid being visited by a new OA spacecraft, a 'solar moth' made by Felipe Brando.

I have made a quick Green Mars texture today; it has oceans only about half as deep as the ones on Don's excellent textures, but it is closer to the way it is depicted in Orion's Arm history;

Very nice texture eburacum.
The only criticism I have is of the atmosphere. To me, it seems to be a little too much purple, and perhaps should be not so high. ie. could be a little more subtle.
Very nice overall though!
Do you plan to make this available for download?

I'm not happy with the atmosphere colour- really, it should be sandy coloured, I suppose. But the height might be not un-reasonable; the scale height of a Martian terraformed atmosphere would be quite high compared to Earth's.
We will make this available for download soon- and we are working on an Earth texture for 500 years in the future too.

I'd go along with that, given the reduced radius and escape velocity.eburacum45 wrote:But the height might be not un-reasonable; the scale height of a Martian terraformed atmosphere would be quite high compared to Earth's.
Looking forward to the final product.

That's that 2 million star databsae that used to work with 1.3.2 and automag maxed. I think there was a version that worked with 1.4.1 but I don't think there is one for 1.5? Is there?bh wrote:Heh... slightly too many stars there cartrite.. earth textures look amazing...

Cool. I'll have to check it out.rthorvald wrote:cartrite wrote:I think there was a version that worked with 1.4.1 but I don't think there is one for 1.5? Is there?

The two million db on the Motherlode works fine with 1.5.

I'm rehashing most of the old models and textures for the Orion's Arm universe, and will soon place it all online for download- totalling several hundred megs. One planet I have upgraded is Sisyphos the chthonian planet: now it has moving clouds and a proper night texture.
Here is a film of the new model- you might be more interested in the labels in the background, which indicate where the various Orion's Arm worlds are located in the Inner sphere as they move across Sisyphos' sky.
http://www.orionsarm.com/movies/sisyphos.wmv
I have also uploaded another experimental movie showing my current wormhole model- remember there are no lensing effects possible in Celestia, so the distorting of light paths by the curved spacetime in the hole is simulated using moving textures.
http://www.orionsarm.com/movies/wormhole6.wmv
This movie is a little squeezed in the horizontal direction for an unknown reason.
