Mars

Post #1by charlyms » 15.11.2007, 21:48

Hello all!
Thank??s Selden and Adirondack! Now my touraddon works fine, why I don??t understand!
Good Idea to update to make it easier for beginners!
I create a new ssc-file for the uranus-tour:

Modify "Uranus" "Sol" {
Atmosphere {
Mie 0.0024
MieAsymmetry -0.15
Rayleigh [ 0.0010 0.0006 0.0003 ]
Absorption [ 0 0 0 ]
MieScaleHeight 20

CloudHeight 10
CloudSpeed 70
CloudMap "MarsClouds.png"

}
}

Is this right?
@Adirondack: I tried to edit the solarsys-folder in some ways, but I always failed, because mars disappears from the programm: If this should be the way you should explain the way of editing more exactltly for "newbies" or update the tour-files accordingly.
A difference effekt between your different versions of a separate ssc-file I cannot find out.
Kindly regards
Charlyms

Code: Select all

I create a new ssc-file for the uranus-tour
Why are you doing this?
There is no reason to change the statements for Uranus in this way.
Especially there is no reason to give Uranus the clouds of Mars!
What are you trying to do?

You have to add this (and nothing else!):

Code: Select all

Rings {
Inner  41837
Outer  51179
Texture "uranus-rings.png"
}

Please read the the instructions carefully.

Code: Select all

... mars disappears from the programm ...

Just obey the instructions in the ZIP's and do not change or add anything else!
If you do so, Mars will not disappear. I guess you did something wrong in the SSC.

Ehm, are you in love with the Mie statements? ;-)

Ulrich,

He MAY have just wished to add some "realism" to Uranus by
adding some existing clouds. I have done this also, but I added my
own home-grown clouds.

Just a thought...

Thanks, Bob

Hello all!
Sorry, comming from night shift, everything went wrong! It was no experiment or ingenius idea!
Nevertheless I tried to edit the solarsysfile for uranus, with no result (no rings visable). Instead my uranussscfile works! Now looks like this:

Modify "Uranus" "Sol" {
Atmosphere {
Mie 0.0024
MieAsymmetry -0.15
Rayleigh [ 0.0010 0.0006 0.0003 ]
Absorption [ 0 0 0 ]
MieScaleHeight 20

Rings {
Inner 41837
Outer 51179
Texture "uranus-rings.png"
}

Why this, Adirondack? By the way: I don??t know, if Mie want??s to marry me, would you be so kind to ask her? :P
Kindly regards
Charlyms
