The Sky is quite bad here in Paris but I still see the stripes on Jupiter... The colors were almost black and white due to the clouds above me !!!

I'm sad because Saturn is alsa visible but there are too much clouds in front of it !!!

You wait till you see the rings of Saturn for the first time... I can see them with my 3 inch catadrioptric. It's amazing to realize that all those Hubble and Voyager pictures are of actual real places.

Have fun !

Saturn !!!!! So beautiful !!! I even saw the Cassini division in the rings (200x zoom) and Titan !

I saw Jupiter far better than yesterday (I can distingish the stripes).

And M42 was also beautifull to look at...

I plan to buy a 'Helios Explorer 114'. Is it a good choice ?

I've had less luck with my month-old scope... I glimpsed what might have been the rings of Saturn but it was very small and not particulaly clear. I looked at Jupiter but I got a yellowish smudge. My scope's finder refuses to align properly, the mount seems to alternately be stable and smooth and then suddenly become jerky and shaky, and there seems to be a constant fog everywhere. Still, the Pleadiaes and the Orion Nebula look pretty cool though.

Hehe my two inch(!) telescope gives me nothing more than a very very small circle with 2 vage stripes on them. But i guess the image of jupiter is only 4 mm wide, so not very much detail. At higher resolutions it's impossible for me to hold the telescope still.

Saturn is now at its best with the rings fully open. A must see :)
